Bailey, Sean
Mr. B loves cycling.
Hello! My name is Sean Bailey and I teach 7th ELA Workshop. As a long time St. Paul resident I love teaching in a community that I care deeply about. I have been teaching English Language Arts at Hidden River for almost a decade now, and I am so excited for the 2023-2024 school year.
Before becoming a teacher I worked as a journalist at a couple of small newspapers around the country. During my time as a journalist I learned first hand the power of the written word and it's impact on a small community. I also witnessed how the power of uplifting voices who were not always heard by the whole community. Seeing this power first hand, I decided to switch careers and head home to Saint Paul and work to empower our youth — especially youth who are part of underrepresented communities.
As a member of the Saint Paul community, and more specifically the Hidden River community, it is my goal to help uplift and empower our students so their voices and stories will be told.
At Hidden River, I also have the privilege of being a WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) coordinator.
Outside of school I love reading, writing, and running around the neighborhood with my son. I am also an avid cyclist and you might just see me on my bike riding around our city and region.
I am honored to teach in such a diverse and supportive community! I can’t wait to get the school year going!
